Apple may embrace an iris scanner in the tenth-anniversary edition of the iPhone 8 model. According to a report by Digitimes, the forthcoming mobile phone will include the feature alongside an OLED display and wireless charging. A few days ago, noted analyst, Ming Chi-Kuo said that the company will unveil three new iPhones this year and that all three would feature wireless charging.
However, the newfangled iPhone could not remain the only new smartphone to offer iris scanning technology. Samsung is also expected to include an iris scanner in the Galaxy S8. The company had earlier offered the feature in the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7.
For the tenth anniversary edition of the iPhone (labelled the iPhone X), Apple is sloped to deal an edge-to-edge display with no home-grown button. The button is predictable to be united as a 3D Touch panel within the display itself. The volume control button is also said to be swapped with touch-enabled retreats on the side of the phone’s frameworks. However, the special edition may not be inexpensive, as hearsays suggest that the new smartphone may be priced at over $2,000. Bearing in mind that the most luxurious version of the iPhone currently in India is the 362GB variant of the iPhone 7 Plus (Rs. 95,000), it is imaginable that the new apple iPhone may be priced at over a lakh in the nation state.
